Dear US Republican and Democratic Representatives,
I am writing to you as a mother who has received feedback from thousands of concerned mothers daily.
At Moms Across America, an educational outreach nonprofit, we educate and empower mothers and others with actions and solutions to create healthy communities.
With The Moms Across America Movement, we are championing policy and public servants who put children, health, safety, and America’s future first.
Republicans, we are outraged that you did not vote to remove section 453 from the House Appropriations bill. Our network is grateful to Democrats such as Representative Pingree and Rep Wasserman Schultz, who eloquently named the risks of giving chemical companies immunity from lawsuits.
However, Representative Simpson called out MAHA Moms and claimed that we were stating misinformation. This is untrue. What is happening is that you are being misinformed and misled by multinational chemical corporations that do not have the best interest; the health and safety of the American people at heart.
This section neuters the EPA, preventing the agency from utilizing 30 years of science to update labels or cancer classifications. It restricts any other legislator or agency from issuing guidelines on chemicals. And it essentially makes it impossible for every American citizen to exercise their constitutional right to a jury trial for justice.
If you disagree with the above statement, which has been generated with the guidance of lawyers, we urge you to strike the section from the bill and sideline making it law until clarification of the law is achieved.
By allowing this section to remain in the bill, you are putting democracy, justice, and the health of our people, livestock, pets, wildlife, waterways, and soil in extreme jeopardy. We all know what happened when the vaccine companies got immunity from lawsuits in 1986 because Big Pharma threatened that they too would go out of business unless they got immunity from lawsuits. Once granted immunity, childhood vaccination numbers jumped from three to sixteen different types, with 79 doses by age 18. Consequently, autism, autoimmune issues, learning disorders, behavioral issues, chronic disease, and tragically, sudden infant death syndrome, or what should be called vaccine-induced death, skyrocketed.
Democrats, we are aghast that you did not call for a roll call to hold the Republicans and yourselves accountable for your votes. Not only are chemical companies attempting to evade responsibility, you, our elected officials, are evading accountability to the American people for your vote. You have all, both parties, desecrated the trust of our MAHA movement. We are disgusted.
Many of the millions of Moms in our network, who are struggling with children with lifelong health issues, are former Democrats. We felt abandoned by our party due to their aggressive vaccine mandates. We found ourselves in alignment with the Republicans who were speaking up for medical health freedom. When we heard the words “pesticides, autism, chronic disease, and cancer” come out of Trump’s mouth alongside Kennedy, on a Presidential platform for the first time in history, we cried. We felt heard, and we felt hope. So we faced alienation from our friends and loved ones when we switched parties and supported the Republicans, Kennedy, and Trump. We did this because we trusted that Trump would follow through with his word, entrust Kennedy to “go wild”, get toxins out of our food, bring transparency and gold standard science to vaccines, and Make America Healthy Again.
Currently, however, it is the Republicans who are pushing pesticide immunity through farm and appropriation bills, renewing pesticides like Dicamba, and removing regulations from PFAS. It is the Democrats who are speaking up for integrity and accountability in our food system, and we find ourselves once again questioning our party affiliates.
We want to be frank with you. Our votes for our elected officials are not tied to party lines. We vote for elected officials who put the health and safety of our children first.
In the National Native American Museum in Washington, DC, there is an enormous black and white Chieftain headdress. Under that beautiful adornment worn by a leader of a tribe, it says (paraphrased) that “ The Mothers elect the Chieftains of the tribe. And to this day, the mothers continue to hold the power to remove a leader based on lack of performance.”
Our tribe of mothers spoke up for you, Republicans, during the last election. Now it is your opportunity to speak for us. If you do not, we will identify and support leaders who will.
You can choose to keep relying on the financial support of chemical and pharmaceutical companies and vote according to their interests—but know this: without integrity, nothing truly works. Sooner or later, corruption collapses under its own weight.
What is in integrity, and long lasting, is to support the health and safety of our food system, transparency, and gold standard science of vaccines, and to make regulations that protect the health of the American people.
Today, we announce our Moms Across America Movement
